Rhinoscopy

Rhinoscopy is a specialized endoscopic procedure that allows precise evaluation of the nasal cavity in animals. Using a dedicated endoscope, it helps identify the underlying cause of chronic nasal discharge, sneezing, epistaxis, or respiratory distress.
Rhinoscopy is indicated in cases of:
- Foreign bodies in the nasal cavity (e.g., grass awns)
- Chronic rhinitis and infections
- Polyps, growths, or structural abnormalities
- Nosebleeds (epistaxis) of unknown origin
The procedure is performed under light anesthesia and is often combined with tissue sampling for histopathological analysis, ensuring a comprehensive and accurate diagnosis.
