Surgery

Our surgeons are dedicated to providing the highest level of surgical care for our patients. They also serve as a valuable resource for primary care veterinarians, offering consultation and case evaluation for complex cases.

With advanced training and experience, along with our state-of-the-art surgical suites, we strive to achieve the best possible outcome for your pet—and for you.

What to expect before surgery

Knowing what to expect and preparing in advance can make your pet’s surgery experience smoother for both you and your pet.

Our surgeons will evaluate your pet’s condition and perform a thorough physical, neurological, and/or orthopedic examination. They will review any recommended diagnostic tests, explain the surgical procedure, and discuss potential risks, complications, and expected outcomes.

Our goal is to ensure you fully understand the treatment and recovery plan. We’re here to guide you and your pet every step of the way.

The night before surgery

Do not feed your pet after midnight the night before surgery. Small amounts of water may be offered. Medication instructions will be provided on a case-by-case basis, depending on your pet’s needs.

Most procedures are scheduled within a few days of the initial consultation. However, additional bloodwork or diagnostic testing may be required in some cases. If you have any questions about preoperative instructions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Drop-Off time

Drop-off for surgery is scheduled between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM. We will keep you informed of any changes and will contact you before and after the procedure.

After surgery

Most procedures require at least one day of hospitalization. Patients may spend their first night in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), if needed. During their stay, pets are continuously monitored 24/7 by our team of veterinarians and nursing staff.

Discharge

Your pet will be discharged once the attending surgeon determines they are stable and ready to continue recovery at home. At discharge, you will receive detailed instructions to support your pet’s recovery. We kindly ask that you allow enough time to speak with our veterinary team and ask any questions when picking up your pet.
